Laura Krokos grew up in Denver where she put her trust in Christ as a result of going to watch a friend in a church play in 7th grade. The Pastor talked to her about how to have a relationship with Christ and that day she made a decision to give Christ the control of her life and forgive her sin. She went to Fort Lewis College in Durango (where she met Austin) and became a leader with Young Life, where she ministered to high school students. The first time she went into the high school, she met a group of girls who she built relationships with. The next summer at summer camp she had opportunity to share the gospel with these girls and they put their trust in Christ. They began to meet more of these girls friends who also gave their lives to Christ. As a result of all these girls coming to Christ, Laura had opportunity to lead her first Bible study. The Bible study with those twelve girls is what God used to cultivate her heart for ministry. While leading the study she realized there was nothing else that she wanted to do. After her years working with Young Life she did a discipleship training school with Youth with a Mission in Nepal. When she returned to Durango Colorado, she interned with a college ministry named Master Plan. During her internship with Master Plan, the Lord brought Austin into her life. They got married August 4th, 2001 and have been doing college ministry since. They now have 5 kids, who of whom are adopted.
